Automotive Detailer - Car Washer - Newark Airport

Overview

Enterprise Mobility is seeking responsible, dedicated people to join our team as full-time Automotive Detailers for our National and Alamo car rental brands. This position is located at Newark International Airport (EWR), NJ 07114.

Base pay: $19.74 per hour, with an additional health care supplement of up to $5.55 per hour, for a total potential hourly rate of $25.29. Additional bonuses may also be available. The health care supplement amount may be adjusted after the first 90 days based on the benefits selected by the employee.

• 40 hours per week
• Must have open availability including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Schedule is based on a shift bid and is subject to change.

Your role includes: washing, cleaning, sanitizing, inspecting, and preparing a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and vans, to meet our high cleanliness and safety standards for customer rentals.

• Clean, sanitize, vacuum, and prepare vehicle interior according to industry-standard protocols.
• Wash, clean and dry the vehicle’s exterior – including cars, vans, and trucks.
• Check fuel level and warning lights; inspect windshield for damage; factory reset/restore vehicle settings; check for customer items and place valuable items in Lost & Found; verify that registration is present, current, and matches the license plate.
• Check fluid levels and add as needed; check tire condition, pressure and tread depth; inspect vehicle exterior for damage.
• Fuel and stage vehicle.
• Inspect vehicle for any safety concerns; report any warning lights and/or vehicle/windshield/tire damage; pull vehicle out of the prep processing as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and report any unsafe or hazardous conditions.
• Operate tools such as carpet shampoo machines or air purifiers to eliminate stains, pet hair, and odors.
• Assist customers when needed; may transport customers to and from the branches.
• Help maintain overall site appearance, including general cleaning of interior and exteriors of branch locations (desktop, counter top, phone, floors, trash, bathrooms, vacuuming, sweeping the lot, and other miscellaneous tasks).

• Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle – must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license issued by a U.S. state or territory.
• Authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship from the company for an employment‑based work permit or other work authorization document now or in the future.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must live within a reasonable commute of no more than one hour from this location.
• Must have at least six consecutive months of prior work/organizational experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

First‑time drivers and under 21 years old must complete the mandatory Graduated Driver License (GDL) program requirements. New Jersey’s GDL program introduces driving privileges gradually to first‑time drivers and individuals under the age of 21.
