Qualifications and Requirements- An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS), as deemed necessary by NJDOE.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred), unless otherwise specified by the NJDOE.
- Develop and implement a program of study tailored to students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.
- Assess student progress regularly and prepare reports.
- Instruct students in citizenship, communication skills, and other core areas as per state law and district regulations.
- Provide instruction in various group settings to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain standards of student behavior to ensure a safe and productive environment.
- Select and requisition instructional materials and maintain inventory records.
- Design instructional plans and organize class time effectively.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and self-improvement activities.
- Supervise student activities and coordinate with aides and paraprofessionals.
- Collaborate with staff and communicate with parents regarding student progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Reports to:
Principal - Salary Range: $67,000 - $111,625 (for SY 25-26)
- Employment Period: 10 months
- Union Affiliation:
Newark Teacher's Union (NTU)
