The Newark Board of Education invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Teacher of Bilingual Education. This role is contingent upon availability of funds and approval by the Superintendent.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in Bilingual/Bicultural Education.
• Valid teaching certificate in the appropriate subject/content area issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties.

• Develop and implement lesson plans meeting students' individual needs.
• Evaluate student progress and report accordingly.
• Instruct students in citizenship, communication skills, and other curriculum elements.
• Provide instruction tailored to students' varying abilities.
• Maintain standards of pupil behavior and proper use of materials.
• Develop instructional plans and organize class time effectively.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Supervise out-of-class activities and coordinate with aides and paraprofessionals.
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding student progress.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Salary Range: $67,000 - $111,625 (for SY 25-26)
• Employment Period: 10 months
