Salary Details: A range of $100,000 - $140,000

The Director of Research Development serves as a Rutgers School of Nursing leader in guiding the development, maintenance and evaluation of formalized translational research opportunities across our academic practice partnerships. Working with the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (NJ ACTS) as a bridge to the RSON, this position will build a model for delivering nursing workforce development in translational research and broaden the focus of translational research activities and collaborations.
As appropriate, this individual will represent the SON on Rutgers Health and local, state, regional, and national committees related to translational research initiatives, interdisciplinary research collaborations, and advancement of academic‑practice partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working with the vice dean of research and associate dean for clinical affairs, identify areas of collaboration with the NJ ACTS and academic practice partners for advancing translational research activities and quality improvement initiatives.
- Based on the needs of our academic practice partners, serve as the main point of communication for facilitating collaboration between the RSON Office of Research and faculty to establish translational research foci.
- Build partnerships between the RSON, Rutgers Health, and academic practice partners to further nursing programs of translational research.
- Develop and evaluate nursing workforce development programs in translational science that are scalable and sustainable in serving the needs across Rutgers Health and our academic practice partners.
- Examine the feasibility of academic programs related to preparing the nursing workforce for translational research roles and collaborate across the RSON in enacting approved academic programs.
- Facilitate clinical and translational research programs with faculty, clinical research professional staff, and academic practice partners using a translational workforce development teams science approach and following federal, state, and institutional guidelines and regulations for research and clinical practice.
