Position SummaryMath adjunct instructor is a part-time college instructor hired on a limited-term or semester contract to teach specific courses. The focus is exclusively on teaching, maintaining student attendance records and holding regularly scheduled office hours. This position is not required to conduct academic research, publish papers, or serve on university committees.
Essential Functions- teaching assigned course(s)
- maintaining student attendance records
- holding regularly scheduled office hours
- participating in common exam proctoring and grading if assigned to a coordinated course
- M.S. degree in Mathematics or Statistics or related field required
- Ph.D. preferred
- Prior teaching experience strongly preferred
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is a plus

Compensation$2668 per contact hour
RangePeriod Activity Grade NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
