Position SummaryThe primary responsibility of a University Lecturer is to teach 12 credits each semester of undergraduate courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. The courses include Precalculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Probability, and others as assigned by the Department Chair.
Essential Functions- Teach introductory and mid-level undergraduate courses.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to provide students with academic support and serve as a coordinator/assistant coordinator of some courses when assigned, which involves the supervision and management of several sections of a course.
- Participate in course and program development and show initiative and commitment to curricular matters.
- Participate in student advising, events, and external outreach activities.
- Provide service to the department, university, and community.
- Master’s degree in mathematics or related field.
- Experience with teaching both mathematics and statistics classes in higher education, especially at an introductory level.
- EdD or PhD in mathematics or related field.

CompensationRange: PSA Faculty University Lecturer Compensation: $65,000.00 - $1, NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
