Job Description & How to Apply Below

Verustruct is developing a suite of robotic construction technologies to deliver affordable, sustainable, safe, and beautiful housing. Using our patent‑pending translational slipform technology (TSF), we create 3D printed buildings with extruded load‑bearing walls integrated with MEP systems, without large support structures. We are looking for a Civil Engineer to help architect and design the future of construction.

We are seeking a Civil Engineer (Level I / Level II / Senior) with a structural engineering or material sciences background to join Verustruct’s team. In this role, you will collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers, reporting to the VP of Engineering, to ensure the scalability of the TSF device and guide its design with a focus on material testing, concrete compositions, and structural building design.

A successful Civil Engineer will be hands‑on with material testing and eager to learn about the material‑feeding techniques required for 3D printed construction.

We value diverse backgrounds and believe that motivation, interest, and the ability to learn quickly are as important as meeting the qualifications listed. If you’re excited and can contribute, even if you don’t meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Guide the design of the full‑scale translational slipform (TSF) device by providing mechanical engineers with specifications on weight, material, size, and durability for structurally sound walls.
  • Assist in the design and analysis of load‑bearing walls, foundations, and MEP integration, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance with building codes.
  • Conduct tests, hand calculations, and perform analyses to assess the size, strength, and integrity of walls and foundations.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that robotic construction systems produce durable, safe, and code‑compliant structures for real‑world construction.
  • Research materials and test concrete mixes for extrusion and slipform processes, ensuring performance and consistency.
  • Evaluate the integration of traditional construction methods with 3D printed wall technology for home construction, ensuring effective incorporation of MEP and other systems.
  • Conduct prototype and material testing to verify the structural performance of the printed components.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and industry regulations, with a focus on safety, resilience, and construction standards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Level I)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Material Sciences with completed coursework in structural engineering.
  • Knowledge of FEA, REVIT, and/or STAAD or similar programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Level II)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Material Sciences, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in structural engineering, focusing on design and analysis of buildings.
  • Knowledge of FEA, REVIT, and/or STAAD or similar programs.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong foundation with structural design principles and construction materials.
  • Understanding of building codes and construction safety standards.
  • Experience with engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) for structural design and analysis (FEA).
  • Experience working with MEP.
  • Experience in construction and familiarity with concrete.
  • Experience with material sciences and/or architectural design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, interdisciplinary environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a keen interest in innovative construction technologies.
  • Experience with robotic or automated construction technologies is a plus.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training or equivalent credential.
  • PhD is a plus.
  • PE License.
COMPENSATION
  • Competitive salary aligned with early‑stage tech startups with potential for equity participation.
  • Performance‑based incentives tied to funding milestones, product development, or strategic objectives.
  • Standard health insurance, 401(k) matching (4%), and flexible work arrangements.
