Responsible for assisting in the operation of one or more processes pertaining to the treatment of wastewater and biosolids.

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment processes.
• Support collection, treatment, and disposal operations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain safety standards, use appropriate PPE, and perform confined space entry when required.
• Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Apply mechanical and problem‑solving skills, and use relevant computer applications.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of Basic and Advanced Wastewater Treatment courses required;
  Advanced Collection course preferred.
• Minimum six (6) years of experience in a New Jersey wastewater treatment facility; a New Jersey Treatment Plant S1 license required (or actively pursuing) and a New Jersey C1 Collection system license preferred.
• Knowledge of treatment and disposal principles, laws, regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
• Mechanical and problem‑solving aptitude, computer literacy, and the ability to learn and retain technical information.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License preferred but not required.
• Must understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the functions of the position.

Ability to perform essential functions involving entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE (canisters, dust masks, SCBA). Perform physical activities requiring the use of arms, legs, and the whole body such as climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, walking, and handling heavy objects.

Work indoors and outdoors in a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system environment. Requires entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE (canisters, dust masks, SCBA). Exposure to noise, odors, and hazardous substances is possible.

Base pay range: $85,514 to $106,859. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, pension, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 457B retirement program, paid vacation, sick, holiday, and personal days.
