Overview
Environmental Services Worker at University Hospital, Newark, NJ. Full-Time (Day).
The primary purpose of the Environmental Services Worker position is to perform various tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment at University Hospital.
Responsibilities- Keeps patient and non-patient areas of the facility clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, showers, laboratories, offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other areas as assigned using approved cleaners and hospital approved germicide.
- Strips linen from beds, washes beds and mattresses using hospital approved germicide, remakes beds after discharge.
- Dusts furniture and equipment, empties waste baskets, trash, recycling and medical waste containers, washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills, polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using required products and equipment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position; prior experience in institutional environmental services is preferred

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $17.54 - $18.58.
