The department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience at the New Jersey Medical School seeks a Research Teaching Specialist III.
Posting SummaryUnder the direction of the Principal Investigator, the specialist conducts specialized research focused on the Amyloid Precursor Protein and its role in extracellular vesicles, manages a small laboratory area, and assists with budgetary, training, and administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Assist in the establishment of performance standards and selection of methodology and instrumentation.
- Carry out various technical and research operations related to investigatory activities of the laboratory.
- Organize and conduct specialized research activities on the Amyloid Precursor Protein and its role in extracellular vesicles.
- Instruct and train students, fellows, and technicians in laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Maintain the knock‑in rat colony.
- Master’s Degree in a relevant science with one year of related experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with MATLAB programming.
- Ability to maintain mouse and rat colonies and perform immunohistochemical analysis.
- Master’s Degree in a biological, chemical, physical science or engineering.
- Five years of related experience.
Grade: 22S. Salary Range: $61,512 – $87,239. Final offer will consider qualifications, experience, and funding availability.
