Laundry Attendant

The Doubletree by Hilton Newark Penn-Station is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team and ensure the efficient and effective operation of our laundry facilities. As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and quality of linens and clothing, contributing to a positive experience for our guests. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding cleanliness standards.

• Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens, towels, and guest clothing according to established procedures
• Inspect items for stains, damages, or wear and report issues to the appropriate department
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washing machines and dryers
• Follow proper handling and storage of clean and soiled linens
• Keep laundry area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of laundry supplies
• Collaborate with housekeeping and other hotel staff to ensure timely delivery of clean linens
• Handle guest requests for additional linens or laundry services
• Adhere to health and safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals
• Perform routine maintenance on laundry equipment and report any malfunctions

• Previous experience as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar role is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
• Ability to operate and maintain laundry equipment
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads
• Basic understanding of fabric care and laundry procedures
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Initiative to identify and address laundry-related issues proactively
