Lead Systems Analyst - River Line Light Rail

Summary

This role provides technical contributions and supervisory oversight for Light Rail IT systems. As a subject‑matter expert in transportation technologies, business processes, and system implementations, you will coordinate with stakeholders to align IT capabilities with operational needs, lead development pipelines, and manage change processes.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Respond to operational alerts and research issues for resolutions in current and planned River Line computer systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Provide application design and programming support for maintenance and enhancement of existing application systems, and recommend user training as appropriate.
  • Design and architect technical solutions, considering system architecture, data models, APIs, and integration points.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for software components and system functionalities.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software components to ensure high quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases and ensure proper testing coverage for all system functionalities.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development, and recommend technology adoption and innovation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders, including troubleshooting issues and addressing user inquiries.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in assigned systems and a thorough understanding of operational environment and user roles and responsibilities.
Education, Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems, Business Analytics, or a comparable field.

  • One year of closely related work experience may substitute for each year of required education.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams and individuals at various organizational levels.
  • 5 years of experience in one or more of the following technologies is required:
    Git Hub, Jira, Azure Pipelines, VS Code, Boomi, Control‑M, node, AWS.
Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with business intelligence tools, reporting, and end‑user report delivery.

  • Familiarity with multi‑platform application environments, both cloud and on premise.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure) and Oracle Database is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Light Rail Operations or the transportation industry is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under changing conditions and priorities.
  • Excellence in requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for both formal and informal reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in initiative, dependability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong operational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships across IT and business unit departments.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to carry standard computer peripherals.
  • Must be able to follow safety protocols for the Light Rail and maintenance facilities as required.
Other Conditions
  • Must provide 24/7 support and be on call.
  • Must be willing to travel to the River Line – Camden Facility.
