Job Description
The CHNJ DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS will create and maintain a top‑notch development back‑office infrastructure by managing and optimizing organizational development processes to increase fundraising revenue. The Director will partner with Development Directors, Major Gift Officers and all other CHNJ departments to increase coordination, collaboration and strategic approaches for the Development Department and fundraising efforts. The Director will promote Covenant House’s mission to serve young people and survivors of human trafficking with absolute respect and unconditional love.
Responsibilities- Lead moves management and develop and manage the internal systems of prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for individuals and institutions, with a strong emphasis on major gifts prospect management, including portfolio management and tracking of proposals and goals.
- Ensure effective donor stewardship and support the donor stewardship program to ensure effective implementation and execution of systems, processes, and workflows to steward donors across all areas of giving.
- Strategize donor engagement for Corporations and donors. Participate with frontline fundraisers in cultivation team discussions to strategize moves management at the donor level.
- Manage the Salesforce CRM system by overseeing data entry, reporting, and data hygiene, and fostering collaboration with internal constituents such as Finance and frontline fundraisers.
- Power user for other development systems like Donor Drive, Campaign Monitor, Simple Text and similar tools.
- Oversee policies and procedures. Create and maintain standard operating procedures that promote effective donor stewardship, moves management, data analytics and data integrity. Take proactive leadership in making system recommendations that promote efficient flow of donor information to appropriate users.
- Lead analytics and learning for Corporations and donors. Consult with Development staff to track, analyze, and report on fundraising progress, donor trends, and overall fundraising landscape.
- Support budgeting process. Collaborate with the CFO, Chief Development Officer and Senior Development Directors in the creation and tracking of the department’s revenue and expense budget and reforecast.
- Support events as needed, attending and supporting donor receptions, sleepouts and special events, which may be conducted outside the employee’s normal work schedule.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings for the Development departments—set agendas with leadership, invite participants, take notes and record follow‑ups and next steps.
- Attend professional development training as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer.
$100,000
Work ArrangementHybrid: three to four days in the office to be negotiated.
Required Experience- Profound and demonstrated commitment to social change and an unmistakable passion for our mission.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Development with a primary focus on operational infrastructure and experience supervising staff and convening collaborative teams.
- Minimum of two years as a Salesforce power user and/or administrator.
- A demonstrated knowledge of moves management.
