CIVA is a civic intelligence startup helping community organizations navigate federal uncertainty with clarity, access, and actionable insight. We organize complex public information into simple, real‑time views so front‑line organizations can act faster and stay ready, even when policy shifts daily.
We recently launched the National Health Access Cohort, a six‑month collaboration and intelligence initiative helping community health organizations nationwide interpret shifting federal priorities and stay competitive during instability.
The OpportunityWe’re seeking two Civic Partnerships Contractors to help grow the National Health Access Cohort. These part‑time contractors will connect with community health organizations, civic networks, and nonprofits to expand participation in our nationwide effort.
This is a unique chance to be part of a civic innovation startup supported by Audible’s Global Center for Urban Innovation and to work out of Equal Space, a leading coworking hub in downtown Newark.
What You’ll Do- Identify and reach out to health and community‐based organizations that could benefit from joining the National Health Access Cohort.
- Engage prospects through email, Linked In, and virtual events, introducing them to CIVA’s mission and the cohort’s value.
- Help guide interested organizations through the onboarding process.
- Support the launch of early cohort milestones, including kickoff events, data collection, and national coordination.
- Provide feedback from the field to help refine messaging and outreach strategy.
- Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) or mission‑aligned professional with a passion for community development, equity, and public service.
- Excellent communicator—written and verbal—comfortable speaking with nonprofit and government leaders.
- Self‑starter who can thrive in an early‑stage, fast‑moving environment.
- Understanding of public health, civic engagement, or federal grantmaking is a plus but not required.
- Must be based in or able to work occasionally from our Newark, NJ office.
- Flexible, commission‑based structure—compensation grows with each organization you help onboard.
- Work part‑time with the freedom to set your own schedule.
- Join a startup culture with civic purpose, collaborating directly with the CIVA team.
- Work out of Newark’s innovation ecosystem through Equal Space and Audible’s Urban Innovation program.
