$20/hour guaranteed + bonuses | Paid training | North Jersey Care about human rights, equality, protecting animals, or standing up against injustice?

Turn that passion into work you can actually do every day.

Public Outreach is hiring passionate, outgoing people to join our North Jersey fundraising team.

You’ll represent leading nonprofit organizations working on issues like human rights, civil liberties, social justice, animal protection, and ending cruelty.

No fundraising experience is required.

We’ll teach you how to fundraise. We’re looking for people who already care.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This is face-to-face fundraising.

You’ll work with a team throughout North Jersey, speaking directly with members of the public about important nonprofit campaigns.

You’ll:

  • Start conversations with people from all walks of life
  • Talk about human rights, equality, and animal protection
  • Explain the issues and why they matter
  • Share how nonprofit organizations are working to create change
  • Inspire people to take action by becoming monthly donors
  • Work toward individual and team fundraising goals
  • Receive regular coaching and support from experienced leaders

This isn’t petitioning or volunteer work.

You’ll be asking people directly to financially support nonprofit organizations through monthly donations.

THE ISSUES YOU MAY WORK ON

Depending on your campaign, your conversations may involve:

  • Human rights and civil liberties
  • Racial justice and equality
  • LGBTQ+ rights
  • Reproductive freedom
  • Refugee and immigrant rights
  • Protecting people from discrimination and injustice
  • Animal welfare and protection
  • Fighting animal cruelty
  • Protecting animals from abuse and exploitation
  • Other human-rights and social-impact issues

Campaign assignments can change over time, but the purpose remains similar—helping nonprofit organizations build the public support they need to create lasting change.

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE AN EXPERT

You don’t need to arrive knowing every campaign or issue.

We’ll provide paid training and teach you about the nonprofit campaign you’re representing.

THE REALITY OF FUNDRAISING

Caring about the mission is important.

So is being able to ask for support.

You’ll approach people you don’t know, start conversations, and eventually ask them to become monthly donors.

Some people will stop and listen.

Some won’t.

You’ll hear “no” regularly.

You’ll need to reset, stay positive, and confidently start the next conversation.

We’ll provide paid training, regular coaching, and support from your team.

Your hourly wage is guaranteed. Your results still matter.

PAY & BENEFITS
  • $20/hour guaranteed base pay
  • Performance-based bonuses on top of your hourly wage
  • Paid training from day one
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities
  • Regular coaching and development
  • Opportunities to grow into training and leadership
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits for eligible full-time employees and their families after 3 months
  • Paid time off
  • Employee Assistance Program

This is not commission‑only work. Your $20/hour base wage is guaranteed.

SCHEDULE & LOCATION

You’ll work with your team at fundraising locations throughout North Jersey.

This is active, public-facing work. Expect to spend much of your shift outdoors, walking, standing, and speaking with people.

You must be able to consistently commit to your scheduled full shifts and reliably travel to fundraising locations throughout the region.

COME AS YOU ARE

We want Public Outreach to be a workplace where people can genuinely be themselves.

Our teams include members of the LGBTQ+ community, and creating an environment where people feel safe, respected, supported, and welcome matters to us.

Queer, trans, and applicants from underrepresented communities are welcome here.

Bring your personality, your perspective, and a willingness to learn.
