Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift assignment, requiring a NJ or compact RN license and strong pediatric critical care skills.
Responsibilities- Work in a 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a hospital
- Patient population includes critically ill pediatric patients with a 1:2+ nurse-to-patient ratio
- Primary duties in PICU with required floating to Pediatrics and NICU as needed
- Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, tele monitoring, BIPAP/CPAP, vents, high flow nasal cannula, and trachs required
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend rotation (Saturday/Sunday)
- Uses Epic as the EMR
- Provide comprehensive care for critically ill pediatric patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
- Will float between PICU, general Pediatrics, and NICU based on clinical needs and skills
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- RTO (requested time off) documentation must be provided during consideration
- Open or active background/license issues not accepted for consideration
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent PICU critical care experience required, with at least 1 year of documented cardiac experience strongly preferred
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required;
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred - Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- First time travelers are not accepted
- Previous RWJBH staff (FT or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least one year
