Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2+ years of PICU experience and an active NJ or compact license.
Responsibilities- Work in a 19-bed Pediatric ICU within a hospital setting
- Night shifts with a schedule of 4x12 hours, 19:00 to 7:30
- Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) required
- Patient ratio is typically 1:2 or more, depending on acuity
- Will float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed for appropriate assignments
- Possible additional float units based on skill set and hospital needs
- Utilizes Medtronic pacemakers and tele monitoring equipment
- Experience with BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies required
- Charting is completed in Epic EMR; prior experience preferred
- Provide critical care for pediatric patients in the ICU environment
- Must be able to adapt to float requirements between PICU, Pediatrics, and NICU as required
- Team structure supports collaborative care across multiple pediatric departments
- Navy blue scrubs are required for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Internal background and license violations are not permitted
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent PICU critical care experience required
- At least 1 year of cardiac experience in the pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- Experience using Medtronic pacemakers and providing tele monitoring required
- Skilled in advanced respiratory care including BIPAP/CPAP, vents, and airway management
- Experience documenting patient care in Epic EMR preferred
- Former employees of the health system must have a minimum one-year break before returning as travelers
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
