Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics position requiring chemotherapy/oncology experience and BLS/PALS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a general pediatrics unit with hem/onc, ortho, and surgical patient populations
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- EMR system used is Epic
- May float to PICU and NICU as needed based on skills and hospital requirements
- Day shift schedule consists of 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
- Required to work every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Responsibilities include caring for pediatric patients with diverse needs including chemotherapy, orthopedic, surgical, and hematology/oncology cases
- Will float to PICU and NICU for appropriate patient assignments
- Navy scrubs are required
- Returning employees must have been away from the RWJBH health system for at least one year to be eligible
- First time travelers are accepted
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at the time of booking
- Block or special scheduling is only accommodated if approved at booking
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 1.5 years recent pediatric nursing experience required
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Chemotherapy/oncology pediatric nursing experience required
- APHON, NRP, and OCN certifications are preferred
- Must have general pediatrics experience
- Epic charting experience preferred
