Overview
The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse for Palliative Care is to provide a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, contribute professional and clinical nursing expertise to nursing units and/or patient population to ensure the delivery of high quality nursing care.

Specifically, the advanced practice nurse with a palliative care specialty will provide consultative services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. - Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- Three (3) years of nursing experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical or Perioperative services.
- One (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care, Adult or Family Medicine preferred.
- Must have, or obtain within one (1) year of date of hire, Advanced Certified Hospital and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) Board Certification.
- AHA BLS (CPR) Certification required.
- Credential required:
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of NJ, ACHPN, AHA BLS certification. Primary source verification: NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, Board of Nursing, University Hospital's designated Background Check Company.
