Hourly Rate: $34+
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Lead School Nurse supporting 2–3 school campuses in Shiprock, just 35 minutes from Farmington. This on-site role plays a critical part in ensuring student health and safety while overseeing campus Health Aides and collaborating with school teams, families, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as Lead Nurse and oversee Health Aides on campus
- Provide first aid and basic health care to students and staff
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed
- Support students with chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, epilepsy)
- Respond to health emergencies calmly and effectively
- Maintain accurate documentation, including health office visits, medication logs, and immunization records
- Assist with student health screenings and support IEP/504 plans
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and medical professionals
- Support 2–3 school sites
- Travel between schools required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprint clearance
- Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
- Bilingual in English and Navajo (Diné)
- Experience supporting students with IEPs and individualized care plans
- Knowledge of school health regulations and FERPA
