DAYAM believes sexual and reproductive health is essential to every person’s overall health, well‑being and happiness. We recognize that geographical and systemic barriers entrenched in discrimination and stigma prevent adolescents from having equitable opportunity to choose their own path and access to sexual and reproductive health care. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for NJMS - Pediatrics – Adolescent Medicine. The Licensed Practical Nurse engages adolescents and young adults (AYAs) in the clinic under the guidance of a physician and Advance Practice Nurse (APN). The LPN provides clinical expertise in family planning and prevention strategies, and provides assessment, planning, and treatment of HIV / STI positive youth in the Division of Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine (DAYAM).

Functions in a variety of roles including clinical, administrative, and centralized services depending on the needs of the clinic.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Provides patient care according to Rutgers protocols and policies and the professional standards of the American Nurses Association.
• Complies with all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, CLIA, Title X, CDC, DEA, and the New Jersey Department of Public Health.
• Complies with all LPN‑related documented workflows, including the follow‑up and referral procedures.
• Works collaboratively with all clinic staff and managers to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Assists the physician with the correct ordering of all labs and diagnostics in Epic EHR per follow‑up procedures and ensures specimens are collected prior to patient departure from the clinic.
• Assists the physician with the management of any pregnancy‑related follow‑up of abnormal results and referrals.
