American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU/Critical Care Float RN with an active NJ or Compact license for a night shift position at a qua ternary-care teaching hospital.
Details- Combined ICU/CCU unit within a qua ternary-care regional teaching hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Ratios range 1:1-3 in critical care and 1:4 if floated to stepdown, varying by census and acuity
- Floating required within skillset to ICU/CCU, CTICU, Step Down units, and ED Holding for ICU patients awaiting beds
- Every other weekend required
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- EPIC charting experience required
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1.5 years critical care experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy including arterial line management, starting/maintaining IVs, and phlebotomy
- Experience caring for ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs required
- Experience with post cardiac surgery (not directly from OR) and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Swan-Ganz catheter experience highly preferred
- Experience with or exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD highly preferred
- CTICU or medical cardiology experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

- Former RWJBarnabas Health employees (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates with open or active background or license hits will not be accepted

- Facility is home to one of the nation's largest heart transplant programs, New Jersey's only Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program, and a Structural Heart and Valve Center offering complex procedures including TAVR
