American Traveler is hiring a Float Critical Care RN with at least 1.5 years of ICU experience and an active NJ or Compact license for a combined ICU/CCU unit.
Details- Combined ICU and CCU unit within a qua ternary-care teaching hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:1-3 in critical care and 1:4 if floated to stepdown, varying with census and acuity
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within skillset to ICU/CCU, CTICU, Step Down units, and ED Holding for ICU patients awaiting a bed
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1.5 years of critical care/ICU experience required
- Skills required:
arterial line management, starting/maintaining IVs, phlebotomy - Experience caring for ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs required
- Experience with post cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR) and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required
- Swan-Ganz catheter experience highly preferred
- Experience or exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD highly preferred
- CTICU or medical cardiology experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

- Former RWJBarnabas Health employees (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Part of a nationally recognized heart transplant and structural heart program at a 653-bed regional teaching hospital
