American Traveler is hiring an RN - ICU to provide float critical care with NJ or compact licensure and at least 1.5 years of critical care/ICU experience required.
Details- Combined ICU/CCU unit within a qua ternary-care teaching hospital
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Ratios of 1:1-3 in critical care and 1:4 if floated to stepdown, varying with census and acuity
- EPIC experience required for charting
- Every other weekend required
- Float required within skillset to ICU/CCU, CTICU, Step Down units, and ED Holding for ICU patients awaiting a bed
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Stroke CEUs preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of critical care/ICU experience required
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of ABGs, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure preferred
- Swan-Ganz catheter experience highly preferred
- Experience with or exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD highly preferred
- CTICU or medical cardiology experience preferred
- Arterial line management and titration of cardiac drips preferred
- Work in a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting as part of a hospital known for its heart transplant and structural heart programs
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Winter holiday coverage required, working or on-call for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

- Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
