American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring 2+ years of PICU critical care experience with 1 year of cardiac experience.

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• 19-bed Pediatric CVICU unit caring for infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or higher depending on census and acuity
• Every other weekend required
• May float to Pediatrics and NICU within skillset as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system used

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience with at least 1 year of cardiac experience required, documented on skills checklist
• EPIC charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, PICC management, TPN/lipids, and blood product administration
• Skilled in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, airway management, ETCO2 monitoring, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with congenital heart disease/repair, post-cardiac surgery care, hemodynamic monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, lumbar puncture assistance, and VP shunt care
• Skilled in pediatric dosage calculations and use of the Broselow system

• Provide critical care nursing for complex pediatric cardiac patients including congenital heart disease, post-surgical, and transplant cases
• Unit supports Glenn and Fontan procedures, cardiac catheterization, and ablation patients
• Work within a Pediatric Critical Care Center offering ECMO, nitric oxide, and VAD support for complex heart disease
• Holiday coverage required for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as travelers
