Position SummaryThis position supports faculty‑led research projects by conducting structured interviews, collecting qualitative and quantitative data, and assisting with organizing and summarizing research findings. The Project Interviewer will help gather stakeholder insights, document interview responses, support data entry and cleaning, and contribute to the preparation of research materials used for academic analysis.
Essential Functions- Conduct interviews with project participants following established protocols and research guidelines.
- Accurately document interview responses and maintain confidential research records.
- Assist with scheduling interview sessions, coordinating communication, and tracking participation.
- Perform basic data entry, organization, and preliminary coding of qualitative and quantitative data.
- Summarize interview findings, identify recurring themes, and prepare preliminary reports.
- Support literature review and background research relevant to interview themes.
- Assist in preparing research summaries, tables, figures, or presentation materials.
- Help maintain project documentation, interview logs, and data management files.
- Provide logistical support for interviews and meetings management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Informatics, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to conduct professional and structured interviews.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to accurately document and organize information.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow research protocols.
- Basic experience working with AI, healthcare datasets, spreadsheets, or research documentation.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
- Graduate‑level research experience involving data collection, qualitative/quantitative analysis, and academic writing.
- Experience summarizing research findings, preparing reports, and communicating technical/academic content clearly.
- Familiarity with interview‑based research, user research, and participant communication in research settings.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify patterns or insights from collected data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and project stakeholders.
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate for this position is $37.50 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
