Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), part of Rutgers University—New Brunswick, is a leading academic health center that integrates education, clinical care, and research. The Anesthesiology Department of the New Jersey Medical School invites applications for a Visiting Researcher (Scholar) focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neuropathic pain and neurodegeneration, with an emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease.

• Design and perform experiments related to cellular and molecular pain development, analyze data, write manuscripts, and present results.
• Develop standards, methodologies, and instrumentation for molecular biological experiments.
• Train clinical fellows and students.
• Assist in grant writing.
• Understand and adhere to Rutgers’ compliance standards as outlined in the RBHS Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with memory/neurodegeneration studies.
• Proficiency in general clinical cell biology laboratory techniques.

The position has a budgeted maximum salary of $40,000, with total compensation potentially up to $250,000 based on qualifications, experience, and available grant funds. Competitive benefits include:
