Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Repairer conducts a wide range of routine maintenance and repair activities across various disciplines, including masonry, plastering, carpentry, painting, plumbing, steamfitting, sheet metal work, electrical tasks, glazing, and mechanical maintenance. The role also includes related duties as needed.

• Knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods, practices, occupational hazards, and safety precautions involved in performing general maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to take safety precautions while performing the work.
• Ability to obtain, store, safeguard, distribute, and use equipment, materials, and supplies.

• Erect simple forms, mix cement and aggregates, pour, and finish concrete structures.
• Patches and repairs brick and concrete structures.
• Repairs damaged and plastered walls and ceilings.
• Spackles, and paints interior and exterior metal, wood, and masonry surfaces.
• Repairs plumbing stoppages and leaks in copper, soil, and iron pipes.
• Replaces washers and gaskets, and performs general service repairs.
• Performs general sheet metal work involved in repairing roofs, drainboards, and rainspouts.
• Replaces light bulbs, fuses, wall plates, fixture cords, and switches.
• Replaces broken glass and repairs.
• Changes lubricants, refuels, and performs light maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
• Cleans tools and equipment.
• Maintains simple records.
• Utilizes various electronic/manual recording systems utilized by the district.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
