The Warehouse Supervisor directly oversees a growing labor force and all front-line warehouse operations while also being able to perform the essential job functions of a warehouseman. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is accountable for staff efficiency and performance, while ensuring adherence to company standards and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:- Trains warehouse personnel in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices
- Manages inventory, counts and audits of all warehouse products
- Liaises with shipping office, drivers, customers and warehouse personnel to ensure process efficiency
- Confers with other warehouse supervisors and managers to coordinate activities within the warehouse
- Updates warehouse manager on daily activities
- Maintains warehouse storage area by organizing floor space and maximizing work flow
- Practices OSHA standards and ensures that all safety procedures are followed
- Operate Forklift
- Identifying damaged goods that have been brought into the warehouse and removing as necessary
- Identifying damaged boxes brought into the warehouse and repackage as necessary
- Able to lift 50+ pounds
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Experience handling container cargo (i.e. jockey truck, yard truck, top pick, etc.)
- Completing pre-shift inspection on Jockey truck including bending, walking, grasping.
- Driving truck with materials from dock to storage area.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to closely supervise and motivate personnel
- Knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations preferred
- Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
- Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
This position is in a refrigerated warehouse facility and involves exposure to widely varying temperature ranges, as well as to all environmental weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.). Additionally, extended periods of walking and/or standing are required.
