As a Generac Generator Power Pro Dealer, we provide free estimates, installation, repair, maintenance, and emergency support.
This is a full-time role as an Electrical Project Manager/Estimator, located on-site in Newark, OH. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates for electrical construction projects, managing project costs, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success. Day-to-day tasks will include analyzing project requirements, reviewing plans and specifications, preparing cost estimates, budgeting, and maintaining effective communication with project teams.
To be a successful electrical project manager/estimator you should be a highly detail-oriented individual with good communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Additionally, candidates should have the ability to organize and prioritize workloads and work independently.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage multiple projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct project estimating in a manner that awarded projects are attainable within contract quotes and timelines.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Review and interpret blueprints/shop drawings and other project documents to formulate accurate management approach.
- Implement change management processes to address project scope adjustments effectively.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in timely billing, approval of invoices, regular review of job costs, reports, project history, and purchase order history. - Work with Project Coordinators in personnel alignment and scheduling to facilitate weekly action plans.
- Monitor project performance using relevant metrics and reporting tools.
- Inform, clarify, and confer weekly project progress with managers.
- Cultivate a working relationship with managers, supervisors, fellow workers, and customers that encourage a cooperative environment.
- Understands and follows NEC, state, and local codes.
- Enforce OSHA requirements.
- Manage the entire bid process from initial inquiry through final proposal submission for assigned electrical projects.
- Attend pre‑bid meetings and conduct site visits to thoroughly understand the project scope, conditions and requirements.
- Perform comprehensive quantity take‑offs from blueprints electrical drawings, specifications, and other bid documents.
- Develop detailed material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Present estimates and proposal to internal teams and external clients.
- Maintain and update internal cost databases and historical project data.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders during the estimating phase.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of technical training and practical experience
- Proven experience as a Electrical Project Manager in the electrical construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in Construction Estimating and Project Estimation
- Proficiency in Cost Management and Budgeting
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost control processes.
- Completion of an Accredited Apprenticeship Program a plus.
- A valid driver’s License.
- Ability to work on-site in Newark, OH
