Position Summary

A competent, registered, professional nurse who delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Prescribes delegates and coordinates the nursing care provided to patients throughout the health system. Effectively interacts with patients, significant others and health care team members in an inpatient care area specializing in psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physician orders
• Provides patient education regarding treatment and medications
• Maintain updated medical records
• Recognize and respond to critical situations
• Conduct group activities
• Assess clients in crisis and arrange for appropriate disposition

Requirements

• Works independently
• Maintains CPR certification
• Psychiatric experience/certification preferred
• LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
