Dietary Aide
Embassy Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team at Newark Rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring compliance with dietary guidelines and individual nutritional needs for residents or patients. This position plays a crucial role in promoting health and well‑being through proper nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals and snacks according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure food is served at the correct temperature and is presented appealingly.
- Support the dietary staff in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, following all health and safety regulations.
- Help with the setup and cleanup of dining areas before and after meals, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Serve food to residents/patients, accommodating any special dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Monitor and record food and fluid intake for residents/patients as needed.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies.
- Participate in the training of new staff members and ensure compliance with safety and sanitary practices.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to address dietary concerns and preferences.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of meal planning and special dietary programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a dietary aide or food service role is a plus, but on‑the‑job training will be provided.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Compassionate attitude and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents/patients.
