Key

Tasks & Responsibilities

Remove throw-aways from Hand Shop kettles and carry to water hopper; after cooling, transport to cullet hopper.

Assist in Hand Shop as required (e.g., job changes, mold changes, set-up press).

Monitor cullet conveyor during job change on automatic machines.

Remove gobs from water hopper at automatic machine, cullet conveyor.

Perform Mold Boy and Carry-in duties as required.

Remove molds from hand shop machine and transport to storage table as required.

Perform general cleanup and painting (restrooms, Hot Metal Department).

Operate forklift as required.

Assist Tank man as required.

Complete required reporting daily.

Assist others in resolving production difficulties to ensure smooth operations.

Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Use safe working practices and report hazardous conditions.

Keep supervisor informed of material, process, and equipment needs/problems.

Perform other related duties as required.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills

No prior experience or training required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Education

H.S. Diploma or GED.

Experience

No minimum experience required; ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions; deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

Certificates

Forklift License required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and occasionally sit. Must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision.
