Position SummaryProvide comprehensive advanced emergency nursing care to patients by formulating a plan based on assessment and data collected during patient history, examination and applicable diagnostic procedures. Function within the scope of practice defined for nurse practitioners by the Advanced Nurse Practice Act, or within the scope of practice for physician assistants as defined by state/national standards.
Responsibilities- Provide high quality emergency care to patients
- Collaborate with physicians to deliver full scope of patient care
- Provide direction to ancillary staff
- Authenticate findings, reports, and plans in the medical record
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and sharing knowledge with colleagues
- Ensure personal performance aligns with the Mission, Vision and Standards of CARE
- Current RN license in the State of Ohio (if NP)
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
- Will consider Physician Assistant candidates
- Active Certificate of Authority in the State of Ohio
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by a nationally recognized certifying organization
- Demonstrates clinical skill and judgment to provide emergency care within the applicable scope of practice
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) with diverse patients and staff
- Ability to maintain professional flexibility in a collegial environment
- Commitment to improving health across neonatal to geriatric populations
- Maintains clinical excellence through ongoing education
- At least 3 years of nursing experience in an Emergency Department preferred
- ACLS & PALS certifications
- Maintain standard care agreement and credentialing through the hospital
- Proficient with electronic medical records and office equipment
- LMH accreditation standards may require annual specialty education
