Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse at National Youth Advocate Program provides medical assistance to the persons served, including performing physical assessments and treating acute, minor illnesses as needed.

Licensed Practical Nurse – Newark, OH

Compensation: starting at $27.00/hour

• Perform physical assessments on each client upon arrival and intake.
• Identify abnormal findings and notify the client's physician or consulting physicians.
• Assure that the need for medical treatment for illnesses and/or injuries is met.
• Assure the administration and implementation of physician orders, and when appropriate, educate the appropriate staff on administering medication and/or treatments as needed.
• Assure all documentation and required record‑keeping is completed in a timely manner.
• Assess minor illnesses and administer non-prescription medications per approved Standing Orders Policy.
• Schedule and coordinate examinations by the consulting physician for each person served.
• Assure the program's compliance with Medical Policies and Procedures as well as Standing Orders.

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with valid licensure.
• Nursing experience working with adolescents is preferred.
• Must be able to maintain compliance with attending agency required training programs.
• Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
• Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal transportation
• Good driving record
• Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
