Position PurposeStore Co-Managers are responsible for working in tandem with the Store Manager to ensure the successful day-to-day operation of Home Depot stores. They share responsibility for maximizing store sales and profitability while working ethically and modeling Home Depot's core values. They accomplish this goal by developing strategies and objectives and leading a team of Associates in executing these strategies and objectives.
They must ensure that the store is optimally stocked and merchandised and that all Customers are provided with excellent customer service. A Store Co-Manager must have a comprehensive knowledge of Home Depot business, be able to use this knowledge to formulate goals and objectives and be capable of motivating his/her self and others to work as a team and accomplish these goals and objectives.
They must also be capable of working with Associates, Department Supervisors and the Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) to accomplish goals.
- Co-Manage all aspects of store operation and profitability (25%).
- Ensure customers are acknowledged, project needs are met, concerns resolved quickly, and collaborate with Store Manager for scheduling (20%).
- Recruit, hire, coach, train, and develop Associates; communicate objectives (20%).
- Ensure effective merchandising of all products and displays (15%).
- Develop and communicate store standards, mission, strategy, objectives; study competition and identify trends (10%).
- Ensure safety of customers and associates; handle deposits, standard operating procedures, petty cash, markdowns, time slips, refunds, price changes, reports (10%).
- Reports to District Manager.
- Accountable for direct supervision of others, including personnel selection, termination, performance appraisal, professional development.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking; may require lifting or handling material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
- Typically located in a comfortable indoor area with possible exposure to dust, fumes, odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Ability to work a flexible, 55 hours per week schedule.
