OverviewAs a Lineman I Telecom at Triple-D Communications, you’ll work alongside experienced linemen to ensure fiber and telecom lines are installed and maintained safely so that everyone can stay connected.

- Assist with the installation of fiber and telecom cables overhead, and promptly repair any issues to ensure efficient and reliable service
- Safely use bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators
- Safely use hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, drills, saws, ladders, lanyards, and lashers
- Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers
- Flag traffic when required
- Maintain safe work areas so traffic flows smoothly while on the job
- Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
- Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
- Understand separation and clearance regulations
- Ability to flexibly work in multiple locations
- Perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Authorization to work in the United States
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license (Commercial driver’s license preferred but not required); cannot be provisional
- Previous construction experience, preferably within the telecommunications industry
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
- Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
- Ability to climb telephone poles and work aloft up to 40 feet
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance
- Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to travel when required
- Splicing of active & passive equipment would be a plus
- Work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and remote locations
- Climb stairs, use ladders, bend, stoop, stand, walk, and lift up to 55 lbs, operate vehicle and heavy machinery
- Occasionally use keyboard and mouse
The wage range for Lineman I Telecom is $22.00 - $28.00 per hour.
