George Fox University announces a tenure-track faculty position in Cinematic Arts to begin August 15, 2025. The successful candidate will teach coursework in Cinematic Arts They will also maintain an active program of scholarship and service to the institution. We seek a colleague with strengths in film production, who is innovative, collaborative, embraces digital media, cultural diversity, and has a global perspective.

Jobresponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching a full load of Cinematic Arts coursework per semester.
- Instructing and assisting in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.
- Maintaining active scholarly work commensurate with the qualifications of a tenure track faculty member.
- Maintaining regular posted office hours and being accessible to students.
- Carrying a full academic advising load.
- Complying with campus and division policies in performance of duties.
- Participating in departmental functions such as staff, department, and division meetings.
- Maintaining/cultivating industry contacts related to your teaching area(s) and keeping abreast of the changing technologies and issues related to the field.
- Participating in university and department level committee service and working group tasks.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

- Ph.D. or M.F.A. in Cinematic Arts or related discipline.
- Prior teaching experience and demonstrated teaching ability in classes at the undergraduate level.
- Evidence of research production through presentations at international, national, regional and/or professional conferences as well as through publications in related disciplines.
- A demonstrated record of professional integrity and strong work ethic, collegiality and commitment to equity and inclusion.
- A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
- Demonstrated success and or aptitude for remote, hybrid, and face to face instruction.
- A commitment to department and university service as well as other duties assigned.
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
- Teaching and research strengths and/or professional experience which complement the current department curriculum.
- Connections to and experience in related media industries.
- Strong skills in mentoring student workers and interns.
- Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
