Position: Adjunct Instructor, Master of Social Work (MSW) Program

Overview

George Fox University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) Program is seeking qualified adjunct instructors. Applicants should have a broad generalist background in social work or a related field and expertise in one or more of the following subject areas:

  • Mental Health and Substance Abuse
  • Statistical Procedures
  • Research Methods
  • Diversity
  • Human Behavior in the Social Environment
  • Family Violence
  • Death, Loss, and Grief
  • Field Seminars (includes DSM‑V, Social Work Practice, and Field Practicum)
Responsibilities
  • Deliver courses, prepare teaching materials, grade, and maintain student records through the Canvas learning management system.
  • Create and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment for in‑person, online, hybrid, or distance modalities.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with employees, students, and the public, demonstrating teamwork, respect, and customer service.
  • Serve as a Christian role model to students through words, actions, and lifestyle.
  • Show awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity in culture, background, race, sex, political views, and expressions of faith.
Qualifications
  • Master of Social Work degree (related degrees may be considered).
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship offered).
  • Commitment to the university’s Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity.
  • Desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees.
  • Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and willingness to express Christian testimony in a church setting.
  • Agreement to live in accordance with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the Statement of Faith.
