Position
9‑month, tenure‑track faculty position in the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at George Fox University.
About the JobThe successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the Division of Health and Behavioral Science, teaching, developing, and maintaining curriculum. This is a hybrid program that produces qualified social workers in Oregon and surrounding states.
Job Responsibilities- Teach 24 credits per academic year in courses related to clinical practice or program needs.
- Design, update, and maintain high‑quality curriculum within areas of expertise.
- Serve as academic advisor for MSW students.
- Contribute to committee service in the program, department, university, and profession.
- Demonstrate ongoing scholarly achievement through publications, presentations, grants, and/or service‑related activities.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with employees, students, and the public.
- Act as a Christian role model through words, actions, and lifestyle.
- Work cross‑culturally with respect, appreciation, and humility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Doctorate in Social Work (DSW or PhD) or a related field (ABD considered).
- Master of Social Work from a CSWE‑accredited program.
- Minimum two years of post‑MSW clinical practice experience.
- Commitment to the university’s Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity.
- Desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees.
- Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and expression of Christian testimony in a church.
- Current Oregon state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or eligibility for licensure.
- Previous teaching experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated success working with diverse populations.
- Appointment at Assistant Professor level is anticipated; significant teaching experience may warrant placement at Associate Professor.
