Senior Pharmacy Technician – Providence Newberg Medical Center, Newberg, OR

Part‑time, Day Shift

Description

• The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III is responsible for filling and dispensing unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt and accurate manner.
• Fill and dispense oral and IV medications, triage patient orders, and maintain the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).
• Provide advanced knowledge and skills in at least two specialty areas in pharmacy.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License (upon hire).
• Minimum 2 years (4,160 hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification, or 3 years (6,240 hours) in a hospital pharmacy if without PTCB certification.
• Experience with automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program.
• Advanced PTCB certificates (e.g., compound sterile products, medication history, controlled substances).
• Specialty certification such as ACPE‑approved sterile compounding certification, where applicable.
