Location:
GFU Cafe - 1400 East North Street, Newberg, OR 97132.
Schedule:
Full‑time, PM shifts, varying days; weekends may be included.
Pay Range: $17.25 to $18.25 per hour.
Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions.
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning and temperature control; ensure food is attractive and tasty.
- Use established ticket collection procedures during service; maintain records of area worked.
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; store or discard excess food according to safe food‑handling procedures.
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Assist with production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
- Assist in ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
- Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately.
- Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
- Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
- Personal commitment to safety for self and others.
- Abide by all company policies and procedures, including safe‑handling glove use, oven mitts, slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
- Previous kitchen and cooking experience required.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
