Newberry Health is seeking a full-time Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT) to join our exceptional team.

Job Summary:

The MT/MLT performs various clinical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Receives and obtains specimens destinos Chiefs for laboratory analysis. Prepares and applies techniques used in the fields of blood bank, bacteriology, parasitology, hematology, serology, urinalysis, chemistry and morphological examinations. Must maintain and record lab results and quality control in all areas.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Performance of instrument maintenance, calibration, and Quality Control
• Troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Performance of quality assurance tasks
• Daily temperature monitoring
• Receiving, processing, and ordering of specimens as needed
• Assistance with phlebotomy procedures
• Assistance with biopsy procedures
• Assistance with inventory control and stocking
• Participation in proficiency testing
• Participation in continuing educationInvisible
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Successful completion of an accredited MT/MLT program
• Associate’s degree
• 1 year experience in a hospital laboratory department preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

• National certification (ASCP or equivalent), or eligible. (
  * Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire)
