Job Description

As a Security Guard - University Patrol Driver in Newberry, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security‑related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will also provide outstanding customer service and communication, contributing to a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors at the location by following security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the educational facility and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help deter prohibited items or activities within the premises.
  • Document and report any security‑related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Work closely with school administration and local authorities when necessary to support a secure environment.
  • Assist visitors, students, and staff with directions and information while maintaining a visible presence on the premises.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 2 years of security‑related experience.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
