Newberry Housing Authority is hiring a Maintenance Technician.

Status – Non-Exempt
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate with property management to ensure efficient and effective completion of maintenance tasks. Knowledge of common methods, practices, and materials used in maintenance and repair work of buildings and building facilities; various tools used in building maintenance and repair. This position performs routine building maintenance for Newberry Housing Authority properties.
All activities must support Newberry Housing Authority mission, strategic goals, and objectives.
Minimum Education and/or Experience
Requires a high school or GED equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in labor work.
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and construction; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
HVAC Repair Certification or able to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment.

All full-time employees are required to participate in the South Carolina Retirement System at a contribution rate of 9% of gross earnings.
NHA offers twelve (12) paid holidays per year.
Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued bi-weekly on hours worked for a total of 20 days the first calendar year.
