The Role
Based at our Newbridge site, we currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and passionate Business Development Manager to continue to build and develop our strong portfolio of customers.
Specific Tasks Include- Personally, lead negotiations with potential customers and through regular meetings, build relationships to maximise commercial opportunities with them.
- Manage the end-to-end Sales process for clients from engagement to sale, to delivery.
- Ensuring that effective systems of control and information exist, routinely monitor sales performance against plan in order to maximise profit potential
- Ensure that operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by 3rd party service providers, are conducted in a manner that fully complies with health & safety, quality, environmental & corporate policies.
- Develop robust sales plans, within the constraints of operational capacity, that seek to secure profitable new market share and gross margin growth through a combination of new business and new product sales through lowest cost to serve.
- Ensure sales plans reflect the need to minimise stock levels, work in progress and customer debtor days in order control unnecessary investment in working capital.
- Develop, publicise, and apply a business commercial operating policy, informed as appropriate by the Group, within limits of their authority on pricing, credit etc. and monitor customer service standards that seek to build customer retention levels.
The Role
- A skilled negotiator with considerable experience in a commercial role ideally gained within the UK Steel Industry.
- Managerial success, the ability to create a high level of trust between commercial, planning, and operational functions.
- Excellent communication skills and strong analytical ability.
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
- Builds strong relationships quickly with a proactive attitude and approach
- Can drive & has a full UK driving licence, able to travel as and when the role requires
