Newbury College is seeking a dedicated and visionary Safeguarding Manager to lead our commitment to student wellbeing and ensure every learner has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, supportive environment.

About the Role

As the day-to-day operational lead for safeguarding, you will play a pivotal part in creating an aspirational culture across the College. You’ll collaborate with staff, support curriculum areas, and ensure safeguarding practices are embedded in everything we do — from the classroom to student support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate safeguarding operations, ensuring best practices and compliance
  • Champion student access to education by addressing emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs
  • Foster a culture of ambition, collaboration, and shared success across departments
  • Oversee the regular reporting of safeguarding data to support curriculum adaptation and development
Who We’re Looking For

You are an experienced safeguarding professional with a passion for student welfare, a strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, and the strategic insight to drive institutional improvements. You’re a confident communicator and empathetic leader who thrives in collaborative environments.

You will be DSL trained and qualified to Degree Level or Equivalent. It is essential in this role that you hold a level 3 safeguarding qualification.
