Behaviour Mentor – Newbury

Full-Time | ASAP Start

A specialist SEN and SEMH school in Newbury is seeking a committed Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a long‑term opportunity for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The school supports pupils aged 5–16 with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, trauma‑related behaviours, and additional learning difficulties. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement within the classroom.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
  • Provide 1:1 mentoring and targeted behaviour support
  • Implement de‑escalation and behaviour intervention strategies
  • Support pupils in managing emotions and making positive choices
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists
  • Help create a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment

This Behaviour Mentor role is an excellent stepping stone into careers in Educational Psychology, Youth Justice, Social Work, or Teaching. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in behaviour management and therapeutic support within a specialist setting.
