A welcoming primary school in the Newbury area is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated support for a child with physical disabilities and communication needs.
The successful candidate will provide tailored one-to-one support, helping the pupil access learning, communicate effectively and participate fully in school life.
The ideal candidate will have:- Previous experience supporting children with SEN
- Experience supporting physical disabilities
- Knowledge of AAC devices and communication aids
- Experience using Makaton and/or finger spelling
- A patient, caring and encouraging approach
- The ability to work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or SEN would be beneficial, although practical experience is equally important.
