Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop positive behaviours?
A specialist school in Newbury is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils who may experience social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, helping them develop the skills and confidence to engage positively with education.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, providing consistent guidance and encouragement throughout the school day. You will help students understand their emotions, manage challenging situations, and develop strategies that enable them to make positive choices.
In this role, you will:
Provide tailored support to pupils experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties
Build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
Help students develop emotional regulation and effective coping strategies
Encourage engagement with learning, classroom routines, and school expectations
Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement consistent behaviour support strategies
The school offers a supportive environment where staff work collaboratively to understand individual pupils and help them achieve their potential. This role will allow you to develop valuable skills in behaviour management, mentoring, and specialist education.
This Behaviour Mentor position would suit someone with experience in youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care, or education. Graduates interested in psychology, counselling, or teaching are also encouraged to apply.
